When I listen to "2nd World" I go to my favorite place in my mind. Is not a calmed place, is the top of a mountain, it rains and the wind blows so fast, but I close my eyes and I can see all my life passing by, moments of joy, my childhood, my failures, the worst moments. I lost my mom on February 14 this year of cancer and I can see her in this place, even tho she couln't walk in the last years of her life, I can see her there, running, playing with us, smiling. All that while the rain and the wind hits me hard, I have nothing but calmness and peace of mind over my 2nd world, where she is free.
OH MY GOD I wasn't expecting to find such a comment here but that's exactly what I thought ! There a vibe with Smoke (by Daughter) that I can hardly find anywhere, except in this specific song and one other (Homegrown by Haux). It's been years and I finally found a song like this one that satisfies me and brings me this specific mood that I was looking for. I feel like those three songs are the only ones that properly convey a really deep sadness and melancholy, I don't know why. But I'm glad someone else found this similarity :) Edit : After looking a bit more carefully through my playlists, I think Visions of Gideon (by Sufjan Stevens) and Everything I wanted (by Billie Eilish) fit too.
